Fiction, Folk Tales, and Fairy Tales

We are taking a break from non fiction to study folk tales and fairy tales.  We will study character traits and feelings, and analyze the multiple perspectives in the stories to discover the morals or lesson learned by the characters.  We will also compare similar stories from diverse cultures.  Our class has already read Cinderella and Yeh Shen (Chinese version of Cinderella).  We enjoyed discussing the stories with our blog buddies in Mrs. Glidden's class.  We focused on comparing how the two stories are the same and how they are different.
